We're a small, family-run business and we treat your details the way we'd want ours treated. The short version: we only use the information you give us to reply to you and to do the work you've asked for. We don't sell it, and we don't add you to any marketing lists.
Who we are
West20 Media (we, us, our) publishes Explore Scotland and Explore Western Isles, and provides advertising and website services for businesses around Scotland. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us any time at hello@west20.media.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. That usually means:
- Your name and business name.
- Your email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
- Whatever you write in your message or email to us.
We don't track you around the website and we don't build a profile on you. There's no advertising or analytics tracking on this site.
Why we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to prepare a quote or rate card, and, if you go ahead, to provide and look after the service you've asked for. In data-protection terms our lawful basis is either taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing that contract, or our legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch.
Who else is involved
A few trusted providers help us run things. They only handle your information to provide their service to us, not for their own purposes:
- Web3Forms delivers messages from our contact form to our inbox.
- Our email provider hosts the inbox your message lands in.
- Our website host serves these pages and keeps the site online.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we reasonably need them to help you, and we keep records of work we've done for you for as long as we're required to for tax and accounting. After that we delete them. If you'd like us to remove your details sooner, just ask.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email us at hello@west20.media and we'll sort it out. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
