Get your business in front of people planning a trip to Scotland.
For over twenty years we have made the printed maps, web listings and big local boards that visitors actually use to find their way around Scotland. Put your business on them, and you are there at the moment someone is deciding where to stay, eat and go.
Web, print and boards. Often all three at once.
Most visitors use more than one of these without thinking about it, on the laptop the night before, on the folded map in the car, and on the big board at the station when they step off the train. We cover all three, so you can be wherever they happen to be looking.
A listing on our visitor sites.
A spot on Explore Scotland or Explore Western Isles, wherever fits your part of the country. These are real visitor sites people use to plan trips, not a directory nobody reads.
- We write the words for you, you just send your best photos.
- Reviewed and refreshed every year, no logins to remember.
- Linked up and set out so it shows well in Google.
- One placement can cover both sites where it makes sense.
A pin on the printed map.
Regional editions covering the Highlands, the Islands and the mainland, redrawn every year. Between 110,000 and 120,000 go into circulation annually, free for your guests to pick up and take with them.
- Free for visitors, so they are genuinely picked up and used.
- They hang around, folded open on kitchen tables for years.
- Stock them yourself and hand them out to your own guests.
- Redrawn yearly, so the network stays current.
A place on the permanent boards.
More than forty big boards, each a local map ringed with its advertisers, fixed up at the railway stations, supermarkets and visitor spots where people stop to get their bearings.
- Sited where people pause and look, not where they rush past.
- Your business shown right next to the local map.
- A year-round presence, working while you sleep.
- Limited slots per board, so it never gets crowded.
Every corner, covered.
From the far north down to the Borders, from the Outer Hebrides to the central belt. Wherever a visitor ends up, there is a fair chance one of our maps is on the table in front of them, or a board is on the wall beside them.

The things people usually ask.
How much does it cost to advertise?
Placements are sold by the year and priced by what you choose and where you operate, so we work to a rate card rather than a single price. Tell us about your business and we will send the current rates. We never tie you into a long contract and we never auto-renew you.
Do I need to write the listing or supply photos?
You send us a few good photos and the key details, and we write the words for you so it reads well and sits naturally alongside everything else on the site. You get to check it before it goes live.
Can I appear on both Explore Scotland and Explore Western Isles?
Yes, where it makes sense for your area. Many businesses take one placement that covers both sites, and we will tell you honestly if only one is worth it for you.
Which areas do the maps and boards cover?
From the far north down to the Borders, and from the Outer Hebrides through the Highlands to the central belt. The printed maps come in regional editions, and the 40+ permanent boards sit at railway stations, supermarkets and visitor hubs across the country.
How often is everything refreshed?
The printed maps are redrawn every year, and your web listing is reviewed and refreshed annually too. If something about your business changes mid-year, you just tell us and we update it.
How do I get started?
Get in touch through the contact form or email us, tell us roughly what you do and where, and we will come back with the right rate card and a recommendation. No obligation.
